Taratahi's, Stock Water Supply one-day rural skills workshop is ideal for those who want to get a general idea of best use of water at their site.

The workshop will cover the following topics:

  • The Codes of Welfare application to water supply.
  • Water required for stock types and classes, stock numbers, feed types, season and weather; and suitable water sources for stock health.
  • Reticulation systems using rivers, bores, springs, town supply, dams, including potential stock health issues.
  • Suitable trough size, flow rate and placement.
  • Installing troughs and water lines, including suitable pipe sizes for different portions of the system.
  • Practice selecting and installing joiners, replacing other components.
  • Finding and repairing water supply faults.
  • Outline how pumps work and discuss common faults that arise
  • Common faults and maintenance in a pressure pump system.

Entry criteria for the workshop : You must be 16 years of age or older.

Teas and coffees provided, please bring your own lunch.
