This programme is for students wanting a career in rural fencing.  It prepares them to construct, repair and maintain the range of fence types and stock yards they will work with on farms.


Students must be:

  • Aged 16 or over.
  • Hold or working towards a learner's, restricted or full driver’s licence.
  • Being physically able and strong enough to work safely with fencing equipment and materials.
  • Having sufficient literacy and numeracy to manage the demands of the programme.

International students must have sufficient English language skills, confirmed by a formal assessment.  

Students are selected on their expressed interest in fencing, a willingness to meet the attendance and academic requirements of the programme including the work placement component. 

Graduates of this programme are likely to move into employment.
