Pasture for Farming Level 3 will give students the knowledge to monitor pasture quantity, quality and grazing; to understand pasture management to support farm production and skills to provide pasture-based feed to livestock at different times of the year and assist with activities that improve pasture quality or stock utilisation of available feed.

This programme is targeted at people with some experience in the pastoral farming sector and want to further develop their skills and knowledge.

Students must be:

  • Aged 16 years or over
  • Hold or working towards a learner, restricted or full drivers licence.
  • Being physically able and strong enough to work safely around livestock and use machinery. 
  • Having sufficient literacy and numeracy to manage the demands of the programme.

Graduates may wish to progress onto higher level study at Level 4 or 5, or move into employment.
