Introduction to Quads

Taratahi's, Introduction to Quads one-day rural skills workshop is ideal for those that are completely new to owning or driving a Quad bike.

The workshop will cover the following topics:

  • The legal aspects to riding a quad
  • When to use a quad and when not to which will include load capacity
  • Risks, safety features and safety gear when riding a quad
  • Pre-start T-CLOC-C check
  • How centre of gravity and traction can affect stability and handling
  • Active riding techniques on flat ground
  • Practice riding including turning left, right, figure eight, going through a gate and backing up.

PPE gear and quads will be provided.  Please ensure that you wear good sturdy footwear.

Entry criteria for the workshop : You must be 16 years of age or older and must be physically capable of handling an adult-sized quad.

Teas and coffees provided, please bring your own lunch.
