The information below is designed to help you identify some of the many scholarship opportunities that are available to help towards funding your fees and/or accommodation whilst at Taratahi.
The list highlights a number of scholarships in alphabetical order, some of which have closing dates before the course starts. There are many other scholarships available, some of which may only be specific to your region so its a good idea to check to see what is available locally. Please contact Taratahi from August onwards each year to have the forms sent out.
* These dates are fixed each year so if you are starting your course with Taratahi in our July intake, you will apply for these scholarships during your time with us.
Must be enrolled in and attending the Taratahi Certificate in Agriculture course and returning for the National Certificate in Agriculture Level 4.

Awarded annually to students enrolling at Taratahi. Up to 20 scholarships are awarded. Priority will be given to those who need assistance on account of their financial situation, their existing environment or their state of health. Application forms available from Taratahi.

Awards scholarships for students who attended school or live (or once lived) in or close to the Borough of Stratford. Applications are to be made in the form of a letter outlining personal details and course to be followed. Application should be sent to: Trustees of the Elsie and Laura Lehmann Trust, PO Box 82, Stratford.

Preference given to students from east coast of the North Island. Application forms available from Taratahi from mid October 2011.
Applications close 25 November 2011.
No applications required. Given to a student who shows good technical ability. Selection criteria will include the student’s attitude, improvement over the first 6 months of their course, ability and credit completion.
Awarded after 6 months of study (for a January intake student this will be in July, for a July student this will be at Graduation in December)
Awards scholarships for students who have attended at some stage during their secondary schooling: Patea, Hawera, Opunake, Okato, Inglewood or Stratford High Schools or St Mary's Diocesan School.

Applicants must have resided for at least five years in Putaruru, Tirau, Tokoroa, Mangakino, Whakamaru, Tirohanga, Waihaha and Atiamuri. Application forms available from Taratahi.
Applications are accepted quarterly and close on: 30 June, 31December.
Awards a scholarship to Taratahi students wanting to continue their agricultural studies either at Taratahi (second year programme), Massey University or other tertiary agricultural training organisation.
Applications must be made no later than 7 October 2011.
Preference given to students whose parents are either Methodist or Presbyterian. Application forms are available online at http://www.methodist.org.nz/ or from Taratahi.
